Climate Solutions That Go Beyond Carbon: Shaping Georgia’s Energy Future

Now is the time to get involved and learn more about a critical public policy moment for climate solutions in Georgia. Join us for a new webinar on February 23rd at 2 pm to learn how our state’s energy future is set and how you can get involved.

Every three years, Georgians have an opportunity to participate in the Integrated Resource Planning process (IRP) for Georgia Power, the largest electric utility in our state. The IRP process sets the energy plan for Georgia Power, playing a key role in charting our state’s energy future. The IRP is your chance to make your voice heard.

The event will explore how climate solutions are impacted by the IRP and share how you can involved on issues including:
- How much new solar will be built in large-scale solar farms.
- What options Georgians will have for rooftop solar.
- How many coal-fired power plants Georgia Power will continue to run.
- Whether more businesses and individuals can participate in energy efficiency and demand response programs.

Moderated by Blair Beasley, director of climate strategies at the Ray C. Anderson Foundation, our expert panel for this event will include:
- Dr. Marilyn Brown, Professor of Sustainable Systems, Georgia Tech School of Public Policy
- Cicely Garrett, Interim Just Energy Director, Partnership for Southern Equity
- Kevin Kelly, Policy Advisor at Southface Institute

Register now to learn how you can help shape Georgia’s energy future and help bring climate solutions home.
